Enjoying yet another round of exciting events, informative seminars and a trade show that sizzled with activity, PRHTA’s 24th Annual Convention & Trade Show drew large crowds of tourism and hospitality professionals representing all sectors—from food and beverage to human resources.

This year’s convention became another stage for Puerto Rico’s culinary professionals to shine, with competitions designed to highlight the new crop of up-and-coming kitchen artistes. Seminars and workshops covered popular topics such as business etiquette and marketing for small hotels. Then there was the trade show itself, a sterling representation of our members’ products and services.

If its success is a sign of things to come, we’re excited—and ready—for next year. The 2012 Convention will take place August 13-17, 2012 at the Rio Mar Beach Resort, and it’s not too early to start making plans to attend, participate and make your mark in Puerto Rico’s tourism industry.

Lifetime Achievement Dinner

One of PRHTA's most popular annual events is the Gastronomic Lifetime Achievement Award dinner, which celebrates the accomplishments of one of Puerto Rico's most distinguished culinary personalities. This dinner, brings together some of our island's finest chefs and restaurant professionals to commemorate the professional efforts and contributions of one outstanding individual. The funds raised during this event benefit PRHTA's Educational Fund, which provides training and certifications for employees in the hospitality sector. We will soon announce the date for the next dinner and are counting on your support to this prestigious event.
